WILD THINGS ON THE LOOSE! Tanzania & Kenya Safari
November 4 – 17, 2023
We are now accepting reservations for our “Wild Things” safari in Tanzania & Kenya. November is an ideal month for wildlife viewing, with the great migration ongoing in the Maasai Mara. This is the ultimate safari, visiting game reserves and parks that contain the highest concentrations of wildlife on the continent. Grab your khakis, your camera and binoculars, and let’s go on a Safari! Click here for full details.
Bangladesh, Here We Come!
Dan recently returned from spending a week in Bangladesh discovering some of its most amazing sights, and now he is eager to share this largely unexplored destination with those of you who have a true love of adventure. He is creating an incredible journey that begins October 19, 2023, in Kolkata India, where we spend a couple of days reveling at the Durga Puja – one of the most dazzling festivals in all of India. We proceed from there to the border and cross into Bangladesh, spending a night in Jessore before boarding a private boat for two nights exploring the famous Sundarbans Wildlife Reserve. Highlights of Dhaka are followed by a flight to Cox’s Bazaar and one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. Then its up into the mountains to spend several days visiting tribal villages and experiencing spectacularly beautiful nature by boat and jeep. Return to civilization for a night in Chittagong before rounding back to Dhaka at the end, with departure on November 5, 2023. Like us, you’ll wonder why you have waited so long to visit this slice of paradise! Accommodations will be luxurious for the most part, but more basic in the Sundarbans and hill tribe areas, adding to the sense of adventure. Please let us know if you are available during this window of time, and would like to be the first to receive details when they are finalized.
Hold On, We’ll Be Right Back!
Sometimes things don’t go perfectly according to plan. This is one of the first things adventure travelers learn, and we also learn to go with the flow and make adjustments as necessary. Circumstances have caused us to postpone two of our upcoming tour offerings. Civil unrest in Peru has disrupted tourist services and caused a shutdown of the Belmond Andean Explorer. The luxury train trip was a highlight of our upcoming Peru tour, so we have postponed that departure until calm and all services have been restored. Look for it to be offered again in a year or two after things cool down. We are also postponing our Sao Paulo Gay Pride tour for a year. It seems we were too ambitious in planning a journey to many far-flung destinations in this enormous country, and it is proving too long and costly for most people who wanted to experience Sao Paulo Pride. We will offer a pared down version of this tour in 2024, beginning in Rio, continuing to Iguazu Falls, and ending in Sao Paulo for the Pride Festival. Look for details in the coming months.
Magical Italy Beckons
We only have three rooms still available for our tour of the Northern Italian Lake District and the Cinque Terre extension. Don’t wait to reserve if you would like to join this amazing group. One person who has booked is willing to share his room, so it won’t be necessary to pay the single supplement if you are traveling alone. If you would consider sharing, please let us know right away and we can put you in touch with your potential roommate so you can get to know each other in advance. Details here.
Next Up – Egypt and Jordan
Those of you who like to follow along with Dan and see his photos when he hosts tours will want to be sure and check in with our Facebook Page starting next week. Dan leaves on Saturday for Cairo, and he will begin his posts as he transits through Istanbul and continues through Egypt and Jordan. We love our armchair adventurers and can’t wait to welcome you into our group of intrepid explorers. Egypt has been touting the glories of the new Grand Egyptian Museum for years now, with the grand opening always being just around the corner. We had a lot of people book our tour in 2020, just as the pandemic was causing countries to close their borders, with the idea that they would be among the first to visit the museum only to be disappointed. True to form, three years later the museum is still not officially open to the public. However, this group has been able to secure (at great expense) entrance to the grand hall with the massive statue of Ramses and the hanging obelisk for a brief glimpse of the massive public spaces. You’ll want to see the photos!

About
Toto Tours has been serving the LGBT community since 1990. We have the distinction of being the only gay tour company in existence which has been operating with the same ownership and management for such a long span of time. We are dedicated to creating exciting travel opportunities that enable our community to explore the wonders of the world in comfort and safety while having the time of our lives. Our clients come back year after year to travel with friends they met on previous trips, meet new people, and explore different parts of the world. We constantly develop new adventures to appeal to everyone, from those venturing on their first international trip, to even the most experienced and frequent world travelers. Our name is derived from the Latin word meaning "all-inclusive." The rainbow colors of the gay flag weave through the word TOTO to symbolize our connections to each other, our communities, and the world. Welcome to Toto Tours, where gay men, lesbians, their close friends and adult family members are invited to travel together to discover all the delights this world has to offer -- "in Toto."
KEEP HOPE ALIVE
In this difficult time we have created a short video message (at the right) to offer encouragement, and to remind everyone that this pandemic will someday be a memory. We might feel helpless right now, and unable to do all the things that we love (like exploring the world), but we can use this time to take an exciting inner journey to explore more about who we are and what we believe. We could very well emerge from such an adventure as more centered humans who are better able to cope with unexpected situations, and grateful for all the good things we have. This is the Toto Spirit. We support you on this inner journey and look forward to the day when we can once again travel together! -- Dan Ware, Founder

Words cannot describe the beauty of Africa -- seeing wildlife in their natural habitat along with the beauty and landscape of the Namibian desert. I had such a great time that I returned for my second Toto Tour (to the Balkans) one year later!

The meticulous arrangements, including knowledgeable and accessible lecturers with comfortable and luxurious accommodations, impressed us a lot during our incredible trip to Antarctica.

Our Normandy tour with Toto in 2016 was fascinating, with a brilliant local guide who had an encyclopedic knowledge of French History, Customs and Culture.

I had an excellent time with the Toto Tours family for our Antarctica cruise. Dan is always making sure everyone is taken care of and included. I would encourage people to give Toto Tours a try because it is awesome!

I am a retired illustrator, and I enjoy traveling all around the world with Toto Tours. I've gone with them to Costa Rica, Newfoundland, Germany, Turkey, and most recently to Tanzania where we saw incredible wildlife! I love meeting new friends on Toto Tours, and hope I will meet you on a future tour -- somewhere in this beautiful world!
