We get an early start to the airport this morning, where we bid a fond farewell to Sergio, who has made us feel truly at home in Sao Paulo.
The flight to Campo Grande is almost 2 hours, but because we move back an hour in time zones, we are landing in only an hour.
The drive to Bonito is about four hours. We stop for lunch after the first hour, and then everyone gets a nap on the bus. As we are approaching Bonito the bus stops along side the road and we disembark for our first incredible wildlife sighting — a Giant Anteater in a field beside the road!
In Bonito we stop to do a little shopping at the pharmacy and the supermarket, and then make our final push to the Zagaia Resort.
We have a leisurely dinner and discuss our plans for tomorrow. Returning to the rooms we happen on a screech owl perched in the rafters. A good omen for the sightings to come!
